Programs

Overview

The vast majority of divers at MDC participate in our Human Springs Lessons or Human Springs Team. These programs are designed to teach diving from the one and three meter springboards. Because the Human Springs programs are centered around our 12 level progression system, it accomodates absolute beginners to advanced divers.

The diagram below illustrates the overall structure of our program.

We structure our programs to allow divers at all levels to improve at their own pace.

Divers can start out in our Human Springs Lessons, Human Springs Team, High School or Masters groups. A small percentage of participants may be asked to join our National Programs (NDP or NTP). Selection for these programs is based on excellence of skill, committment and attitude. The coaching staff will approach divers who are eligible for National programs.

  • Human Springs

Human Springs programs are designed for absolute beginner to advanced divers. An encouraging atmosphere for learning new skills.

  • NDP

The National Development Program (NDP) is designed to allow future champions an environment to develop the fundamental skills necessary to become outstanding in their sport.

  • NTP

A focused, intense, but fun environment for athletes to pursue their goals with a competitive focus on the national championships each Spring and Summer.

  • High School & Masters

These two programs train together at Germantown and KSAC. The High School Program has been tailored to meet the needs of High School divers, focusing on developing a competitive diving list from the one-meter springboard. MDC Masters Divers make diving a life-long pursuit, and have the option to train for the USA Masters Nationals. The two groups combine to make for an entertaining mixture of youth, wisdom and acrobatics.

  • Homeschool

The Homeschool Human Springs Team class is for kids who are interested in learning new things and who are comfortable jumping into deep water. Experience in diving, tumbling, trampoline, gymnastics and/or dance is a great benefit, but not a requirement. Each 3-month session we will offer optional competitions to allow the kids to show off their new and improved skills.
